Are you looking for a healthy and delicious treat for your furry friend? Look no further than these peanut butter banana dog treats! Made with simple, wholesome ingredients, these treats are sure to please even the pickiest of pups.

In this episode, we make our own healthy doggo treats. While the time and effort required to do this can seem like another chore, it takes out any question(s) about what is inside of the food that your pup is ingesting. I find myself constantly looking at the ingredients of what might be inside of a particular brand of dog treats – or even where they are from (I only purchase treats from brands that are Made in USA). While this may be effective, I tend to see how sometimes it might even be unhealthy due to over consumption. I consider those treats to be like McDonalds for humans.

So let’s get started, you will want to prepare all of the ingredients below verify carefully and meticulously.

Ingredients

IngredientAmount
Ripe banana1
Creamy peanut butter1/4 cup
Egg1
Oat flour1 – 1/2 cups
Baking powder1 tsp
Water1/4 cup
* Adjust ingredients as you see fit, for small dogs, use less flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth.
  3. Add the creamy peanut butter and egg to the bowl and mix until well combined.
  4. Add the oat flour and baking powder to the bowl and stir until a dough forms.
  5. Gradually add in water, mixing well until the dough is easy to handle and not too sticky.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it’s about 1/4-inch thick.
  7. Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into desired shapes.
  8. Place the treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let the treats cool completely before serving to your pup.

This was an awesome project to bake, it didn’t take too much time and now I have a nice batch of treats to occasionally give to Luffy, which he very much enjoyed! Make sure to store them in a cool place and don’t hold on to these for too long so they stay nice and fresh.

Final Thoughts

These peanut butter banana dog treats are perfect for training, rewarding good behavior, or just spoiling your furry friend. Plus, since they’re made with oat flour instead of traditional wheat flour, they’re a great option for dogs with sensitive stomachs or grain allergies.

So go ahead and whip up a batch of these tasty treats for your pup – they’re sure to thank you with lots of tail wags and doggy kisses!
